Goodsoil calls itself the central gateway to Meadow Lake Provincial Park, and our shop is just south of the village. The Lac des Îles resorts are about 15–20 minutes away, Kimball Lake about half an hour and Greig Lake just under an hour. The park is Saskatchewan's largest, with dozens of lakes, and being this close matters when a cabin needs work between weekends.

Cabin wiring has its own habits. Much of it was added by different owners in different decades, then left to sit through winters that bring around nine days below −30 °C in an average regional January, plus spring thaw and several generations of mice. Typical jobs include panel upgrades, rewiring older cabins, circuits for hot tubs, saunas and baseboard heat, outdoor and dock lighting, heat trace, and power to sheds.

We also work on resort and golf course facilities in the Meadow Lake Provincial Park area, where buildings are spread out and many open only for the season. For cabin owners, we can look the system over when you open up in spring and help you shut down properly in the fall. Quotes are free, and the emergency line is answered 24/7 if something goes wrong at the lake.

Why Baer Electric

Local, licensed, and accountable.

  • Close to the park

Lac des Îles is 15–20 minutes from our shop and Kimball Lake about half an hour. Park roads are partly gravel, and we plan for that.

  • Built for empty winters

Cabins sit cold and unattended for months. Heat trace, pumps and heaters are wired so they're protected and easy to check.

  • Water close by

Docks, hot tubs and wet ground need GFCI protection and careful routing. We treat water as the hazard it is.

  • Resorts and golf courses

Resort and golf course facilities in the park area are part of our work too, along with private cabins.

  • Open and close safely

Spring start-up and fall shutdown checks, so nothing gets switched on wet, chewed or frozen.

FAQ

Questions about cabins & lakes.

Do you work inside Meadow Lake Provincial Park?

Yes. Our shop is just south of Goodsoil, the park's central gateway. Lac des Îles is about 15–20 minutes away, Kimball Lake about half an hour and Greig Lake just under an hour.

Can you help open or close my cabin?

Yes. In spring we can check the panel, GFCIs, heat trace and pumps before everything goes back on, and in fall we help you shut off what should be off and keep heat on what needs it.

Can you wire a hot tub at the lake?

Yes. Most hot tubs need a dedicated, GFCI-protected circuit and a proper disconnect, and cabin panels often need a check first. See hot tub wiring.

A previous owner did the wiring. Should I worry?

Not necessarily, but it's worth a look. Cabins often have additions wired at different times, and an inspection will tell you what's sound and what needs fixing.

Do you work for resorts and campgrounds?

Yes. We've worked on resort and golf course facilities in the Meadow Lake Provincial Park area, including spread-out sites that open seasonally.
