Goodsoil calls itself “The Central Gateway to Meadow Lake Provincial Park”, and the highway backs it up: Highway 26 runs north through the village and becomes Highway 224 on its way into the park. Volga German families settled the district, the museum keeps a 1945 fieldstone school, and NHL defenceman Ron Greschner comes from here. It's a village of 301 people, and it has been Baer Electric's home ground since 1999.

Most of the work close to home is the everyday kind: a panel with no room left for one more breaker, a basement finally getting finished, a shop that needs proper power, a barn light that quit. Out past the village it's farms and acreages in the RM of Beaver River, with barns, grain bins and equipment to keep running, and trenching when a new building needs its power underground.

Winters here are long. Goodsoil has no long-term climate record of its own, but the regional one at Meadow Lake Airport puts January's average at −16.8 °C, with about 123 cm of snow a year. That's when a 24/7 emergency line matters. It's also why Gemstone permanent lights, which we've installed as an authorized dealer since 2023, suit this place: no ladders in December, and light through the long evenings.
