Pierceland is the western gateway to Meadow Lake Provincial Park. From here, Highway 21 heads north to Pierce Lake and Howe Bay, and from that end the park runs east for about 113 km, from Cold Lake on the Alberta border to Waterhen Lake. The village was incorporated in 1973, counted 605 people in 2021, and is where the RM of Beaver River keeps its office.

Out here the work splits between farms and town. On the farms around Pierceland it's barn wiring, grain bin electrical, equipment hookups and trenching for underground lines to a new shop or yard. In the village it's houses and businesses: panel upgrades, renovations, outlets, repairs and commercial maintenance. Up at Pierce Lake it's cabins, which have needs of their own.
