# Electrical Inspections & Maintenance — Baer Electric

> Baer Electric inspects and maintains electrical systems in homes, farms and businesses around Goodsoil, Pierceland and Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. A TSASK-licensed electrician checks the panel, breakers, connections, GFCI protection, grounding and bonding, then gives you written findings showing what to fix now and what can wait.

Electrical problems usually start small. A connection works loose, a breaker wears out, a mouse chews a cable in the attic, or a barn's damp, dusty air starts corroding boxes and fittings. None of it shows from the outside until something trips, smells hot or quits. Regular inspections and preventive maintenance catch those things while they're still small and quiet.

An inspection covers the panel and breakers, visible wiring and connections, GFCI and arc-fault protection, grounding and bonding, outdoor and wet-location equipment, and anything you've noticed acting up. On farms we add the yard service, poles and feeders, the bin yard, barns and shops. You get written findings in plain language, sorted into safety issues, things to fix soon, and things that can wait.

People call us for an inspection when they're buying an older home or acreage, when an insurer asks about the wiring, before adding a big load like a hot tub or a shop, or after a storm or a near miss. A cabin that's sat closed all winter is worth a look too. If anything needs repair, we'll quote it, and the decision is yours.

## Why Baer Electric

- **Written findings:** A plain-language list of what we found, sorted into safety issues, fix soon, and can wait.
- **A licensed electrician:** Inspections are done by a TSASK-licensed electrician working to the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code, enforced in Saskatchewan since June 1, 2025.
- **Farm-specific checks:** Barns, bin yards and shops deal with moisture, dust and rodents. We look for the corrosion and damage that comes with them.
- **Before you buy:** Buying an older house or acreage? An inspection tells you what the wiring needs before you commit.
- **Repairs if you want them:** If something needs fixing, we'll quote it. There's no obligation to have us do the work.

## How it works

1. **Book a visit:** Tell us about the property and anything that's been acting up.
2. **Walk-through:** We go through the panel, circuits, outdoor equipment and outbuildings, testing protection devices as we go.
3. **Written findings:** You get a written summary sorted into safety issues, fix soon, and can wait.
4. **Repairs, if you want:** We quote any repairs. You decide what gets done and when.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is this the same as a TSASK inspection?

No. TSASK is the provincial safety authority and inspects permitted electrical work. Our inspection is a condition check of your existing system by a licensed electrician, with written findings for you.

### How often should I have my wiring checked?

There's no single rule. It's worth doing when you buy an older property, before adding a big load, after storm or water damage, and periodically on farms and businesses where equipment works hard.

### What do I get at the end?

Written findings in plain language: what's unsafe, what should be fixed soon and what can wait. If you want repairs, we quote them separately.

### Can you check the farm before harvest or winter?

Yes. Late summer is a good time to look over bin fans, dryer circuits and yard feeds before harvest, and fall is the time to check barn heat and ventilation before the cold sets in.

### Do you check cabins?

Yes, and a cabin that's been closed all winter is worth a look before everything goes back on. See [cabin and lake property electrical](https://baerelectric.ca/services/cabin-lake-property/).
