A farm yard is a small power utility that somebody has to look after. There's the service at the pole, the feeds out to the shop and the bin yard, the barn, the well, the yard light, and whatever got added in a hurry during the last harvest. Around Goodsoil, Pierceland, Rapid View and the Highway 55 corridor, Baer Electric keeps all of that working.

The work covers barn and livestock building wiring, grain bin electrical, dryer and auger circuits, shops and outbuildings, water pumps, yard lights and agricultural equipment installation. Plenty of older yards have wiring that was extended one building at a time over decades. We sort out what's feeding what, fix anything unsafe, and leave you with a yard you can add to.

Timing matters on a farm. Harvest doesn't wait, and a barn fan or heater that quits in January becomes a livestock problem fast. Emergency calls are answered 24/7, and planned work is scheduled around seeding and harvest wherever we can manage it. With a frost-free season of roughly 96 days in this region, we'd rather trench and build in the warm months and save winter for repairs.

## Why Baer Electric

- **Scheduled around the field:** Planned work is booked around seeding and harvest. If something quits mid-harvest, the 24/7 line is there for it.
- **Licensed for the whole yard:** Baer Electric Inc. holds a TSASK Full Contractor licence with no restrictions, so yard services, shops and bin yards are all in scope.
- **Cold-weather details:** Heaters, heat lamps and ventilation are wired for a region where January averages −16.8 °C and the record low is −51.7 °C (Meadow Lake Airport).
- **Untangling old yards:** We trace what feeds what, label it, and replace the extension-cord fixes before they turn into a fire.
- **Trenching too:** Underground feeds to shops, bins and yard lights can be dug and wired by the same crew.
- **Close by:** Our shop is near Peerless at the Highway 26/55 junction, a reasonable drive from farms between Pierceland and Meadow Lake.

## How it works

1. **Yard walk:** We walk the yard with you: the service, the poles, the buildings and whatever you're planning to add.
2. **Plan and quote:** You get a written quote, split into stages if that suits your budget or your season better.
3. **Permit and install:** We take out the TSASK permit, then do the work around your field schedule.
4. **Test, label, explain:** New circuits are tested and labelled, and we show you where everything is fed from and how to shut it off.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do you wire grain bins and dryers?

Yes. Aeration fans, bin heaters, monitoring cables and dryer circuits are all part of our [grain bin wiring](https://baerelectric.ca/services/grain-bin-wiring/) work.

### Can you work with three-phase power?

Some larger farm equipment runs on three-phase power. Tell us what you have and what you're adding, and we'll look at what's available at your yard and what the equipment needs.

### Who looks after the poles and wires in my yard?

SaskPower looks after the utility side up to your meter or service point. Past that, the yard wiring, poles and feeders are generally the owner's to maintain, and that's the part we work on.

### Can I do my own farm wiring?

Saskatchewan lets farm owners do electrical work on their own property under a TSASK home and farm owner permit, with conditions. We're happy to quote the parts you'd rather leave to a licensed electrician.

### Do you come out during harvest?

Yes. Our 24/7 emergency line covers farm breakdowns too. How soon we can be there depends on where you are and what else has broken that day, and we'll tell you honestly when you call.
