# Permanent Roofline Lights — Gemstone Lights by Baer Electric

> Gemstone permanent roofline lights are individually controlled LEDs, each with red, green, blue and a dedicated warm-white diode, set into an aluminum track that's colour-matched to your soffit and fascia. Gemstone Lights started in Calgary in 2016 with one goal: outdoor lights that survive prairie winters and never have to come down. The system is a custom aluminum track, colour-matched to your trim and shaped to your soffit, with a light every 9 inches and every connection sealed with a watertight compression fitting.

Each light has red, green, blue and a true warm-white diode, so the same roofline can glow a soft 2800–3000K white on an ordinary Tuesday, run red and green through December, and switch to team colours on game night — from your phone, or automatically.

Because Baer Electric is a licensed electrician as well as an authorized Gemstone dealer, the power side — outlet location, control box placement and any wiring the install needs — is planned and done by the same crew that hangs the track.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much do permanent roofline lights cost?

Gemstone doesn't publish a price list. Cost depends mainly on the linear footage of your rooflines and the installation rate. We measure your home and give you a written quote, and quotes are free.

### Can you see the track during the day?

Not much. The track is colour-matched to your soffit and fascia (Gemstone offers 150+ colours) and shaped to your soffit depth, so it reads as part of the trim. Gemstone describes it as hardly visible when the lights are off.

### Will they hold up to a Saskatchewan winter?

Gemstone was founded in Calgary specifically to build lights that survive harsh winters. The lights are IP67 waterproof and UV-rated, and because they sit in the track under the eaves, they're sheltered from wind, hail and snow.

### What happens if a light goes out?

Lights are individually connected, so one can be replaced without touching the rest. The lights carry a lifetime warranty (rated 50,000 hours, about 20 years at 7 hours a day), and we're local, so service is a short drive away.

### Do I need a new outlet?

Usually not. Gemstone's control box plugs into a regular outlet and doesn't need a dedicated one. If there isn't an outlet in a sensible spot, we're electricians — we can add one properly.

### How long does installation take?

Most installs are done in a day. Fall is the busiest season (October to December), so if you want lights for Christmas, book early.

### Is there a monthly fee for the app?

No. The Gemstone Lights app has no monthly fees, and the Autopilot event calendars are free.
